Join TPPP as a Volunteer and Help Support Missouri Teens and Families!<\/p>\n
For a full list of volunteer internship positions, visit the\u00a0Practicum Opportunities<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n Individual volunteers expand the capacity of TPPP to do its work. Below are some specific volunteer positions along with descriptions of our volunteer committees. Individual volunteers are encouraged to contact TPPP to discuss regular volunteer commitments. Volunteer hours are flexible.<\/p>\n Description: The Teen Pregnancy & Prevention Partnership (TPPP) seeks a dependable volunteer to assist with office support and organization. Bolster the work of the TPPP by volunteering as part of our office support team. Provide office support through your clerical skills such as filing, mailing, scheduling, etc. Experience in budgeting and QuickBooks is a plus! May include small projects to prepare for special events such as our annual conference. This opportunity is available for any amount of time, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Regular (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) commitment preferred. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who prefers to work behind the scenes supporting TPPP\u2019s work in Missouri.<\/p>\n Description: The Teen Pregnancy & Prevention Partnership (TPPP) seeks a volunteer to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our professional development programs. Help us engage professionals in learning by ensuring they have snacks, drinks and program materials.\u00a0 Will include small amounts of space set-up (coffee preparation and handout distribution for example). TPPP Professional Development events are typically held on Friday morning with set up prior to the event.<\/p>\n Responsibilities:<\/p>\n Advocacy Committee<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The Advocacy Committee works with like-minded organizations to hold annual\u00a0legislative breakfasts<\/strong><\/b> in Jefferson City and encourage legislators to support evidence-based programs to prevent teen pregnancy and medically accurate sexual health education.<\/p>\n Program Committee<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The Program Committee works with the Program Coordinator to\u00a0plan trainings <\/strong><\/b>throughout the year and handles the support functions of those trainings: training space, speaker relations, technology support, refreshments, advertising, evaluation, registration, etc.\u00a0 There is much work to be done with this committee!<\/p>\n Development Committee<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The Development Committee looks for\u00a0grant opportunities<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0appropriate to our work.\u00a0\u00a0Fundraising<\/strong><\/b> is also accomplished through Schnuck\u2019s eScrip cards and fundraisers such as our annual November $10 sale.<\/p>\n Conference Committee<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0The Conference Committee is responsible for\u00a0planning and evaluating our annual conference<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0and meets throughout the year. \u00a0National Keynote speakers and experts from across Missouri provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to improve adolescent sexual health.\u00a0 In addition to screening presentation proposals and setting the agenda this committee handles sponsorships, exhibitors, breakfast, lunch, snacks, technology support, registration, door prizes, decorations, etc.<\/p>\n Community Engagement \/ Public Awareness Committee<\/strong><\/b> The Community Engagement Committee handles TPPP\u2019s website<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0online resource guide<\/strong><\/b>, we provide local and national resource and referral information for teens, parents and agencies. Our\u00a0e-newsletters<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0are distributed monthly to more than 1,000 professionals and parents and contain adolescent sexual health related research articles, political and social updates, statistical information and best practice resources. Our\u00a0Facebook posts and Tweets<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0provide timely updates on the world of teen pregnancy prevention…and a bit of humor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" VOLUNTEER! Volunteer Committees<\/strong><\/h2>\nTPPP encourages you to be actively involved with us and to volunteer your time through committee work. We do not work directly with teens, we train the people who do. \u00a0We also advocate for comprehensive, medically accurate sexuality education. By volunteering, you are actively involving yourself and ensuring an impact on teen pregnancy and STI prevention. TPPP has several committees to choose from.
